A Remembrance of Loved Ones
Wilma Gentilly
November 22, 1925 - December 11, 2020
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Wilma Marshalla Gentilly on December 11, 2020 in Willoughby Hills, Ohio at the age of 95.
Wilma will be lovingly remembered by her children James Gentilly and Diane Gentilly Campbell; her grandchildren, James Scott Gentilly, Danielle Campbell, Nicole Campbell and Christy Campbell; and great granddaughter, Ava Gentilly.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, John and Vilma Marshalla, husband, Dr. James Gentilly, son Scott Gentilly, and her five elder brothers.
Wilma was born on November 22, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois. It was in Chicago where Wilma met the love of her life, Jim Gentilly, before he was shipped off to fight in World War II as a paratrooper. As soon as he returned from the war, they married and moved to Cleveland, Ohio.
Wilma was an avid bridge player and golfer. Wilma loved singing and dancing, especially to her favorites, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. She was a huge Cleveland Indians fan who would regularly keep score the old-fashioned way. Wilma was also a master joke teller. We will forever share her laughter and humor for generations to come. She touched the lives of all who met her with her love, kindness, joy, and wit. But what was most important to Wilma was her FAMILY. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy; and we were all so very blessed to have Wilma in our lives. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
The family will have a private Celebration of Life, at a later date and requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Grace Hospice or the American Heart Society.
