RUDOLPH KNIFIC
November 4, 1926 - January 9, 2016
Rudolph Knific “Rudy” age 89 passed away January 9 at Hospice of the Western Reserve, surrounded by 4 generations of his family. Always sharing a smile, joke or laugh, Mr. Knific was beloved by his community, friends, and all who came in contact with him and his upbeat approach to life. Genuinely interested in others, he was never too busy to learn about them and their families.
A graduate of The Cleveland Institute of Music with a specialization in the double bass, Mr. Knific pursued his career performing in various venues while developing, owning, and operating an independent insurance agency. After 38 years in both industries, he retired yet maintained his active interest in music by playing with The Hillcrest Community Orchestra and Lakeland Civic Band. He was also an active member of Rotary and a past Master of Lion Heart Lodge achieving 32nd Degree.
After retiring, Mr. Knific enjoyed traveling with his wife, woodworking, outdoor activities, attending the theater, spending time with his family and his “kids”.
He is survived by his wife, Zita, sister Gloria Pracek, children Randolph (Karen), Thomas (Renata), and Donald, grandchildren John (Christine), Gene, Carrie, Christopher, Nina and David. He was predeceased by his parents and brother John.
According to Mr. Knific’s wishes no wake will be held and funeral services are private.
In lieu of flowers please support Hospice of the Western Reserve, Lake County Humane Association, a charity of your choice or perform an act of kindness in his name.
