Robert A. Pospisil
Robert A. Pospisil, 68, of Streetsboro, passed away peacefully on Aug. 28, 2024. Beloved husband of Donna M. (nee Preis); devoted father to Patricia (Patrick) and Katelyn; dear brother of Norma (Robert) and Jon(Vivian), uncle of Laura (Peter) and Robin (Bart).
Pops, as he was known to friends, will be remembered for his kind soul and infectious laugh. He had a sharp wit and could be an expansive story teller; back when people wrote letters, he did so for months with a homesick former high school classmate. When friends needed confiding or consolation, Pops was there. If the world is a little sadder today for Bob’s passing, he left it a better place.
An avid fisherman and forever practicing golfer, Bob loved his family, past and present. After graduating from Kenston High School in 1974, Bob found his way to Idaho and Kent State where he began studies that landed him in the medical research field. He started as a RN in the Cardiac Monitoring Unit at University Hospitals of Cleveland, moving on to the ALLHAT study, sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. Bob completed his career doing international pharmaceutical research. In his spare time he volunteered as Grounds elder for his church, and HOA president for his condominium association.
A Memorial Service is planned on Saturday, October 19 at 11 a.m. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life, visitation from 10 a.m. until time of the service at Hope Lutheran Church, 456 S. Chillicothe Rd., Aurora 44202, 330-562-9660. Memorials may be forwarded to Hospice of Western Reserve.
