William "Bill" E. Becker, Jr.
William E. Becker, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on July 13, 2019 at the age of 74.
“Bill” was paralyzed in an accident in 1969, but he definitely did not let life in a wheelchair define him. Prior to his injury, he was a proud member of Union Ironworkers Local 17 in Cleveland, Ohio. Following his injury, he successfully raised a family, ran a home building business, enjoyed hunting, archery, snowmobiling, swimming, American muscle cars, racing cars, watching Nascar, and so much more. Despite being paralyzed, Bill was thankfully able to drive and even traveled out west to Arizona in a custom handicap-accessible motorhome. Bill never let his disability stop him from enjoying life and he was truly an inspiration to everyone who knew him. He will be missed by many!
Preceding in passing are his father, William E. Becker Sr., mother, Helen Irene (Staten) and brother, Robert Becker, he is survived by his dedicated wife of almost 55 years Marlen Becker (Orzechowski), sister Vicki Gustincic, daughter Lisa Danowski (Becker), her husband, Paul Danowski, son, Stephen Becker and his wife, Michelle Becker (Roth) and 6 grandchildren, Torren Danowski, Chaz Becker, Kayleigh Danowski, Jessica Becker, Casey Danowski and Sophie Danowski.
Per Bill’s wishes, in lieu of a formal service, the family will hold a Celebration of Life event on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the home of Steve and Michelle located at 2009 Clay Road, Dorset, OH. There will be a time of prayer, remembrance, fellowship and food. All are welcome, and in lieu of flowers, we ask that you kindly bring a covered dish and/or dessert to share.
