Victor T. Fani
Victor T. Fani, a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, passed away on January 29, 2022 from the effects of Agent Orange and complications from his service in Vietnam.
Vic was the son of Fiore Fani and Ann Fani (nee Bevilacqua). Vic grew up in Willoughby, Ohio. He was born in Uniontown, PA and moved to Willoughby, Ohio at a very young age where he remained a life long resident.
After graduating from Eastlake North High School in 1966, Vic enlisted in the United States Marine Corps proudly standing in the yellow footprints at Parris Island SC. Vic valued this service highly, and attained the rank of the Lance Corporal. He was trained as a Motor Vehicle Operator, and was awarded the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm. The Presidential Unit Citation and the Combat Action Ribbon.
Victor Fani is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Kelly, father-in-law James Ogrin, Mother-in-law Kathy Ogrin, sons Victor A. Fani, Kyle Fani, and daughter Sara Fani, brother Anthony Fani(Sue), brother-in-law Jim Ogrin(Shelly), Sister-in-law Dawn Mullen (deceased), nieces Heather Monaco, and Brittany Mullen, nephews Alex Ogrin, Matthew Fani, Josh Fani, and Jarrod Mullen, great nephew Joseph Monaco, and great niece Gianna Mullen. He was preceded in death by Andrea Fani, his daughter from his first marriage.
Vic was the loving grandfather of Gavin Fani and Gabriella Furlong, and his grandchildren were the light of his life.
Vic’s Friends came from all generations, walks of life, and included Marines, classmates, work friends, and almost everyone he met during his life, my regrets for not being able to name them all. He surely would like them mentioned here.
A Celebration of life will be planned late this year.
