Robert James Byers

Robert James Byers, age 67, passed away on January 24, 2026, after a brief and sudden illness. His passing leaves an immeasurable void not only in the hearts of his family, but also among the many people who knew and loved him.

Bob was a man of quick wit and an infectious sense of humor, always looking for an opportunity to tell a joke and make others laugh. His humor, often funny and sometimes delightfully cheesy, brought smiles to those around him. Beneath that humor was a deep devotion and unwavering love. Those closest to him knew they could always count on Bob to show up and help, no matter the task or circumstance.
Bob was a graduate of Avon High School, 1977. He graduated from Bowling Green University to earn an accounting degree and passed his CPA exam the first time which was no surprise to any of us. He excelled in math and was often referred to as “Rain Man”. He loved bowling and golf, playing in many tournaments for years.

Bob was the beloved husband of Cheryl Fisher and a constant, steadfast father figure to her four daughters and grandson. In this role, he offered gentle wisdom, humor, and unconditional love. He made them feel safe, supported, and truly believed in, and his legacy will live on through them always.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his sister, Janet (Ralph) Bentley; his four daughters, Jessica (Tom) Dillon, Catherine Fesperman, Amberly Fesperman, and Stephanie Fesperman; his grandson, Jaden Fesperman; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Byers, and his mother, Doris (née Novotny) Byers.

Arrangements will be shared at a later time.

Bob’s family is deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support received during this difficult time. In honoring his life, may we carry forward his example of loving deeply, showing up faithfully, and never missing a chance to share a witty pun and joke.
