Richard Alan Conteen

Richard Alan Conteen passed away peacefully while in care at Hospice on October 2, 2025.  He was a caring father to both Kimberly and Patrick.  Some of the greatest memories with Dad come from going to Cleveland Indians games during the mid 90s and summer weekends at Fell Lake Pool in Northfield.  Richard was a devoted fan of the Cleveland Indians and season ticket holder with many of his close friends.   Richard spent most of his career at Northfield and Thistledown race track where he helped many employees obtain their license.  Many of his former associates have had long careers moving on to other venues including JACK casino in downtown Cleveland.  It wasn’t uncommon to go walking through the casinos with Richard and everyone stopping to say hello and see how he’s been.  His heart reached out to many in the community. He was well appreciated and respected for his strength and courage during the later years when his mobility became difficult.  Many would comment how strong he was and he would very seldom ask for help.  His gratitude was never ending and his openness to help others was far reaching.  His Mother, Dolores Conteen, passed away in February of 2025 and his Father, Donald Conteen, in January of 2008.   Richard resided in Mayfield Heights, Ohio for the majority of his life.
