Karen Marie Hemann

Karen Marie Hemann (née Bates), 67, of Newbury, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, after showing incredible strength throughout her battle with cancer.

Karen was born on December 22, 1957, in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, to Walter and Eileen Bates. Though her journey was not without challenges, Karen leaves behind a legacy of strength and endurance. Her memory continues through her children—Michael Joseph Hemann, Renee Carly Hemann, and Amy Marie Hemann - and her nine grandchildren: Nicholas, Gillian, Silas, Rowan, Asher, Charlie, August, Poet, and Parker.

She also leaves behind her brother John Bates; nieces Sheri Bates and Heather Stewart; as well as her cherished cats, Willow and Oliver. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Eileen Hemann; her brothers, David and Walter, and her parents.

Karen loved reading and had a special passion for horror movies. She will be remembered for her resilience, her warmth, and her ability to face adversity with quiet courage.
