James T. Evans Jr.

It is with great sorrow that we share James T. Evans Jr., age 84, of Concord, passed away from a long battle with lung cancer on February 14, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 5, 1938 in Painesville, Ohio to Phyllis and James Evans Sr.  James was a retired brick layer and cement finisher and a proud US Army Veteran.  His passion for more than 65 years was farming and he loved teaching anyone that wanted to learn about agriculture.  He was selfless and always put the needs of others before those of himself. He loved spending time with his family and beloved dog Ginger, and enjoyed working in his garden and around his home. 

James is survived by his brother William Evans; daughter Sharon Evans; daughter Patty Thomas (Matt); son James Evans (Amber); granddaughter Ashley Harnist (Mat); grandson (Michael Rondini); grandson (Benjamin Evans) and great grandchildren (Aubree &  Jesse Harnist).  He was preceded in death by his parents, Phyllis and James Evans Sr.  A Celebration of Life will be held at Concord Airpark 12361 Concord Hamden Road, Concord, OH 44077 on March 5, 2023 from 1:00PM-4:00PM.  Donations may be made to the Hospice of Western Reserve who did a wonderful, loving job keeping him comfortable during his final days.
