David “Dave” Schefft

David “Dave” Schefft, 79, of Mentor, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

Beloved husband of Diane (Denny); loving father of Jen Waterman (Joe) and Jason Schefft (Maria); proud grandfather of Mae, Charlotte, and Luke. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Poley (Gordon), and was a cherished uncle to several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Viola and Walter Schefft.

Dave’s quick wit and humor endeared him to all. A lifelong Cleveland sports fan, he enjoyed basketball, golfing, bowling, and serving as a deacon and Stephen Minister at Faith Lutheran Church in Mentor. His deepest commitment was always to his family.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Faith Lutheran Church, 8125 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
