Daniel C. Schindler

Daniel C Schindler, 57, of Concord Township (formally Avon lake) passed away Sunday January 18th after a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. 

Dan was known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, traits that brought laughter to everyone around him. He was a 1986 graduate of Avon Lake High School where he excelled in football and is an inductee in the Avon Lake Athletic Hall of Fame. Dan went on to attend Kent State and Cleveland State where he earned a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree. 

He is survived by his devoted partner of 14 years, Bobbi Ridenour, children Jessica and Ryan of Stow, mother Carole Schindler of Avon Lake, and brothers James, David (Beth), and Jeff (Leilani). He is also survived by many loving nieces, cousins, aunts, and uncles. 

Dan was a proud “bonus dad” to Mike (Brittany) Ridenour of Wickliffe, Mathew (Kayla) Ridenour of Leroy, and Kaitlyn (Bob) Hosler of Mentor, and a cherished “bonus grandpa” to seven grandchildren. 

Dan was preceded in death by his father James “Harry” Schindler. 

Burial will be private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
