Marlen Becker

Marlen (Orzechowski) Becker, of Austinburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025. She was born on August 14, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Charles and Mary (Filbin) Orzechowski.

She is survived by her children, Lisa and her husband Paul Danowski of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Stephen Becker and his wife Michelle of Dorset, Ohio; and by her beloved grandchildren Torren Danowski, Chaz Becker and his wife Madison, Kayleigh Danowski, Jessica (Becker) Caylor and her husband Matthew, Casey Danowski, and Sophie Danowski; as well as her great-granddaughter, Bobbie Sue Becker. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy (Orzechowski) Brininger, and her husband Tyrone, and her brother, Charles Orzechowski.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Becker Jr., and by her parents, Charles and Mary (Filbin) Orzechowski.

Marlen was a devoted wife and caretaker to her husband, and she raised her son and daughter to be independent, hardworking, family-centered people, leading more by example than instruction. She could turn bare cupboards into a meal that nourished both body and spirit, and she had a gift for making something out of nothing, whether that meant stretching a dollar, mending what was worn, or creating comfort from simple things. Her Christmas Eve spread of cheese and crackers came long before charcuterie boards were a thing, yet somehow it always looked like a feast. She had the ability to make ordinary moments feel like abundance.

She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family, her enduring strength, and her love that showed up in a warm meal, a clean home, and practical gifts. Those who knew her best will carry her lessons in their own lives to show up, to make do, and to love without fanfare but with a full heart.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
