June 20, 1944 - July 30, 2019

GRUBB, EDITH K. (nee Lerch), aged 75 years, beloved mother of Walter Gene (wife Terri) and John David, loving grandmother of Alan and Nicholas, cherished sister of Dan Lerch (wife Betsy) and the late Katherine I. Lerch, and fond aunt of Robin and Doug Lerch. Passed away on July 30, 2019 at Hospice of the Western Reserve.

A celebration of "Dolly"s life was held on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at the Elks Lodge #18 in Willoughby, OH, where family and friends gathered to not only share her favorite "picnic" food, but also many memories, stories, and laughter, and to reminisce over the many photographs documenting her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Edith L. Vermilye, 84, longtime resident of the Vermilye Ponderosa in Leroy, passed away peacefully Monday, May 28, 2018 in Chardon surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 23, 1933 in Willoughby, Ohio, the daughter of the late Wayne and Dorothy (nee Eckart) Bixel. Edith was a member and Past President of the Mothers of Twins Club and a volunteer with the American Red Cross. She is survived by her children, Sherri (Paul) Hemus, Kurt (Barb) Vermilye, Bonnie Vermilye, Barb (Rick) Martin, and Sonia Vermilye; grandchildren, Renee, Angie, Mike, Shane, Nicole, Ian, Jessica, Audie, Stanley, Zach, Gabby, Brandon, Mitch, Josh, Hannah, and Stefani; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Lanny (Midge) Bixel; best friend and travel companion, Jeanie Johnson. Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Vermilye; sons, Stanley and Roland Vermilye; daughter, Suzette Murphy; grandchildren, Cid & Jeremy; great-granddaughter, Breanna.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00pm Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Leroy Community Chapel, 12920 Painesville Warren Rd, Painesville, OH 44077.  Following the service, everyone is welcome to join the family for a memorial luncheon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Crossroads Hospice, 9775 Rockside Rd #270, Valley View, OH 44125.

In honor of Edith's love for the color purple, if you have something purple please either wear it or bring it with you.
