Shirley Liptak

Shirley D. Liptak, 87, of Mentor OH entered into rest December 20, 2025 at The Hospice of the Western Reserve, Euclid OH. Born Shirley Dawn Spiker in Grantsville MD, daughter of the late Gurney and Dessie Spiker, she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, William E. Liptak Jr.

Shirley is survived by her sons Ralph Brown (wife Carol Brown), North Olmsted OH and Thomas Brown (wife Denise Brown), Painesville OH and granddaughters Jessica Brown, Strongsville OH and Alison (Brown) Powell, Bedford OH.

Shirley was a generous and good-natured person who loved gardening, and her gardens won a city beautification award from the City of Mentor in 2009. She also had a fondness for cats, and befriended and cared for several strays during her lifetime. Other interests included crocheting, needlepoint and other crafts.

At Shirley’s request, there will be no reception or formal funeral services. Interment is at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon OH.
